Polystyrene foam (PSF) trays are forms made of polypropylene filled with air by 98%.  They differ in thickness, size, form of the bottom, height of the side, colour, and availability of moisture absorbing layer.

A polystyrene foam tray is 95% water that especially determines its properties:

• thermal – it has very low heat conduction, consequently, has heat insulation properties so, keeps the products hot or cooled for much longer.
• mechanical – it has excellent tensile, bending and compressive strength.
• chemical – polystyrene foam is resistant to water, fats, acids (excluding strong oxidants, such as nitric acid), alkali and alcoholic solutions.
